Our last day in Singapore...
Up early for breakfast and a pickup at 8 am for our tours.
I was not happy about the Singapore Flyer as it looks like a large ferris wheel. Oh well, I went on it and survived. Doug wandered around the cabin, but I sat still in the seat in the middle. The views were spectacular but I was glad to be back down.
We thought they (the tour company) said 9.14 to be back, but it was 9.40, so we had a little wait, then on to another bus and dropped off to the wharf and the bus went. We wandered down to the boat, but a man came after us and I had to go back Nd vet our boarding passes. At the moment we are sitting in the boat in the air conditioning, not sure what is happening, but it is cool!!!
There are heaps of small boats coming in and out, some banging into each other. Dougie is quite amused at it all!!!
Looks like quite a busy harbour.
It is now 10.20 am and still nothing happening....maybe it leaves at 10.30 am???? LOL
To be continued....
Just after 10.30 am we were off. There is a commentary running in English and another language, not sure which.
We are stopping at Kusu Island for about 45 minutes....there is a temple here and some lovely picnic tables, and the grounds are beautiful.
Back on the boat and cold drinks were offered to purchase....just happened there were Singapore Slings....so I had 2, Dougie had 2 beers. Singapore Slingers are my new favourite drink.
Off the boat after a relaxing trip, then to find a guide. She said they wouldn't take us back and Dougie was going to get a cab. I assured him our name was on the list, so back we go and onto a big bus....just the two of us...only to be taken to the wrong hotel...it was the Orchard Hotel, but not the pan pacific. Out we got and into a cab...our hotel was just around the corner!!! We didn't know!! LOL
Into the lift, me to the room, Dougie to the massage floor as he has a sore neck. They have a whole floor here for the mineral pool, massages and full beauty treatments, and I think a fitness centre.
We are being picked up just after 4 pm to be taken to the airport ready for our flight home. Where has the time gone? Our last time in the BA lounge.....
Well...here we are....in the BA lounge sipping on champagne, and nibbles.....waiting for our flight. Very civilised. Dougie's neck feels great after the massage....I am jealous....
We have to go to customs at 5.30 pm....half an hour....
We arrive Sydney 5.15 am and then a flight to Wagga Wagga, ETA 12.30 pm...then it is back to reality....and our darling dog Max and Fresca...the cat....
Keep an eye out...there will be more posts....and updates on photos when i can get to a computer....
