Doug was woken this morning about 4.30 Greece time with a text message. He didn't check it at first, then about 10 minutes later decided to. Big problem....our Olympic flight had been cancelled. The text was from flight centre in Wagga.
After phone conversations I overheard, I asked Doug should I have a shower....yes he said, and wake the kids. So we all got into gear, managed to get into Mytilene, get tickets on Aegan Air and took off at 7 am!!! Flight centre had suggested we take a chance on getting another flight.
We sitting at Athens airport at the moment and our British Air flight at this stage is not affected.
While at the airport, someone came up to Dan and asked her opinion on how the strike was affecting her travel. She said she didn't have an opinion, but knew someone who would!! So next thing, Dougie is being interviewed on local TV!!! Celebrity!!
There is 1 hour of free wi fi here at the airport which I am making use of, so will post this. We should have it again in the British Air lounge.....
