All up early and off to Mytiline. Crazy drivers passing over double lines.
We have seen so many funny things. Yesterday we saw a man riding a bike holding on to a large kids toy!!!
We arrived at Mytilene and through customs and on to the ship from Mytilene to Ayvalik in Turkey on Cunda Lines.
About 1.30 hr trip and then we arrived at Turkey. Through customs again, 15€ for visa.
Everyone so helpful. Young man escorted us to bus depot after he and 2 customs people were helping. At the bus depot he spoke lots to Grace and Angelo. Not sure what was happening but I think we are in the process of purchasing our tickets for the bus to our next stop. 125€ for the 6 of us.
Went into a cafe, no one spoke Greek but we found someone who spoke English. Ordered mixed sandwiches beer and wine. I hope. Dan and Nick wouldn't eat. Hope we are safe!!!
The sandwich was toasted with Devon sausage tomato cheese gherkin and some sauce. Very nice. We had to move next door food and all to buy beers. I had a lovely peach nectar in a can. Sitting in bus depot waiting for bus. Have to be there 1 hour before the bus departs. Unsure why as we have our tickets. Went to the toilet. First 2 were on the ground. Last one a normal one. Hope they aren't on the ground as we go further into Turkey!!
Into mini bus and the driver does not speak Greek or English!!!
Arrived at another bus depot to get bigger bus. 15 minute wait. Dougie wants to get on bus to get good seats. Dan in ordering water.
On the bus early, seats are reserved, so no need to get on early!!! There are USB ports to use your laptop or as I am doing - charging my phone. Can watch movies or radio or tv. Very good. Snacks offered, hot drinks and cold drinks.
We finally arrived at next destination. The side of the road in the middle of nowhere we thought!! Dan on the phone to the hotel trying to explain where we were. Finally a mini bus arrives....apparently we were dropped of in a slightly different spot. All good, arrived at the hotel and checked into our rooms, Dougie and Angelo, Grace and I, and Dan and Nick in theirs...nice rooms, dinner and breakfast included.
We went down to the British bar and happy hour was on. Had some drinks til 7 and then to dinner.
Dinner was salad, bread, soup, choice of a few meals, choice of dessert. Very good.
Cards, then bed!!
