Berlin to Athens....2 June

Tday was our last day in Berlin. We have had a great time there. Our morning started with an early breakfast and then back up to our rooms to get organised.. I started reading, then became very tired and fell asleep! Dan came up and Dougie, Dan and I had a game of Euchre...our new favourite game...Dougie won...and last night with partners, Nick and I won twice....yeay...we are the champions!!!

Off to the airport, via Checkpoint Charlie as Nick wanted to get his passport stamped, and so did Dan. They didn't have their passports the day we went on the tour where we had photos and Dougie and I got ours stamped. The taxi driver was very patient while they ran off and I think queue jumped to get the stamps!! We saw them running back towards the taxi...so funny. Off we went, and arrived at Tegel airport and gave the taxi driver a tip!! Great start to the day!!!

We had a bit of a wait...had a cappucino, the kids went off and had a look around the shops. Then it was into the British Airways for you guessed it....champagne and food. Then another look around the shops and on board for the flight to Heathrow. Good flight, I read nearly all the way. I have already read Mao's Last Dancer...a gift from Dan and Nick which I hadn't had the chance to read, and I am half way through anoer book.

Off the plane through customs....I am now getting used to it...very different from thr panic attack I had at Bangkok. I also have lost my fear of takeoff and landing which is a blessing!

And you guessed it...Terminal 5 ...British Airways....more wine, food, and of course free wi fi. It was so worth Dougie joning the QANTAS club, and Dan too...all free and a lovely place to wait between planes.

We have a couple of hours here....Dan and Nick have gone to look at the shops....then off to Athens arrivng around 2.30 am Athens time. We have a room booked so we can sleep for the rest of the night....then Dougie and Dan (aka the organisers) are looking at us doing a day tour of Athens. Nick and I are happy with them organising.

I must say at this point, Dougie has done a great job and we have enjoyed everything so far.

We are excited about Athens...but I think we are all excited about meeting up with Grace...in Lesvos.
