28 June...part 2....

We spent our time in the BA club, but I didn't even have a drink, only soda water and tonic water...tummy feeling a bit ordinary....and I didn't eat anything either...very sad.

Been through customs, and while I didn't bleep as I did coming into Athens, there was something in my carry on bag that showed up.....can we look please...sure says I. So, I take some things out...what is in that plastic bag? Open it up, so I did..my dirty clothes....he waved me through!!!! LOL

While waiting to board, Danielle showed me a photo on Nick's phone....Dougie looking through my Facebook!!! He doesn't like Facebook, asked me to cancel his account, but both Dan and I have caught him reading ours when he has the opportunity!!! Photo to come when available!!!

Well, on board only to be told that the strike in Athens has delayed flights and we will be an hour's delay on the tarmac...assurances that connecting flights may be in jeopardy, so flight connections will organise overnight stays or another flight.....another adventure unfolding......

We had a good flight, but we separated from Dan and Nick. Dougie was getting quite stressed about everything and for once I was calm and told him that he had done a wonderful job with the whole trip, the driving etc., which I would never have done. But he was still up tight. I told him it was all out of his control and it didn't matter, we would go with what ever happens.....but you might miss high tea at Raffles says he, doesn't matter says I, not your fault....and so on...asking cabin crew would we make our connection....until we arrived at Heathrow....and made it in time...

We left Dan and Nick, who finally caught up with us, checked our flights. This is where Nick, our status, points fanatic, decided to try an upgrade for he and Dan to Bangkok. The look on his face was priceless. He was so excited when they got the upgrade quite cheaply. A bit of banter here between Nick and Dougie over points and status. When we were in Interlaken, Margaret, Doug's sister explained frequent flyer points and status points to Nick. She created a monster....LOL. He is always trying to figure out ways to get more points, trying to overtake Doug with his. He has lost a lot of his quietness with Doug and I during this trip. It is wonderful.

So off we went, I saw some camera's in a shop I wanted to look at (mine is nearly had it), but no we had to keep going...so I kept calm and just followed on like a little puppy. We did customs etc. then into the BA lounge with only a little time to spare to have a drink. This was the second time in the BA lounge today that I only had soft drink and nothing to eat. Doug was still a little agitated, so we said farewell to Dan and Nick, hugs, kisses and sadly we left them in the BA lounge to go to our boarding gate.

We arrived with time to spare, at our gate, but he was still fidgety, took my passport and boarding pass. I didn't twig to anything about this, just stayed calm!!!

We boarded and the cabin crew said to your left Mr Wait, same to me (he had handed me my boarding pass by this time), so we went left. I realised why he had been so agitated all day....he had paid for an upgrade to premium economy for this last leg of our trip, Heathrow to Singapore, then when we leave Singapore, premium class home. I couldn't believe it. Big hugs and kisses...so glad I had been calm before. This is what he was concerned about all day. He had paid $1,500 each back in March for the upgrade. I was so grateful. It wad a wonderful thing to do for me. Dan and Nick were in on the secret, unsure who else was. LOL. So we settled back to enjoy our flight.

The extra leg room is wonderful for me..Virtually no pain all trip.

I slept heaps in the plane, snuggled up with a rug and I put sox on and the eye mask on. They even provide ear plugs!!

Woke up and had English breakfast about an hour out of Singapore, but it is late afternoon in Singapore.....and I think it is the 29th June!!! LOL....

I love premium economy...
